Where are the Warner Todd Huston Stories in the MSM?

Via facebook

Two weeks ago I noticed this story at PJ Media that enraged me:

At about 1 AM or so on Saturday morning, I was awakened by a noise outside my home. I can’t really say what the noise was as it woke me from a deep sleep. It was just a shout that awoke me. I looked at my window and saw what struck me as a strange light outside. So, I went to the front door…

And saw my car interior on fire…

The surface of my passenger seat was set aflame and the entire interior of the car destroyed. Fortunately it isn’t a new car (it’s a 1999 Oldsmobile 88). But unfortunately, because it is so old I never put it on comprehensive coverage leaving it only at liability coverage. So, insurance won’t cover this destruction and I am now without a car.

While I promoted the gofundme campaign on twitter and on this site I choose not to write a full post on the subject because I wanted to see what the MSM would do.  After all here is a reporter who has been covering some controversial groups and pulling no punches who has been the target for actual harassment at his home now culminating in the torching of his car.

Well it’s been two weeks so I went to google and did a news search on Warner Todd Huston on google news and at Yahoo News.

On both sites you had a smattering of his articles at Breitbart from Transsexual Arrested for Alleged Rape of 10-Year-Old Girl in a Bathroom

A Wyoming man who identifies as a woman named “Michelle” is now standing trial for the alleged rape of a 10-year-old girl, reports say.
Miguel Martinez was arrested after the child’s mother reported the attack to Caspar, Wyoming, police. Martinez was arrested and pleaded not guilty last May, and now the trial is underway.

To covering the unravelling of yet another fake hate crime in Michigan

A black man has been arrested for a series of racist graffiti attacks that shocked minority students starting last fall at Eastern Michigan University.

However Yahoo had no results concerning this incident and at google the only other result I found was this piece at the Canada free press:

Warner maintains his own website, Publius’ Forum, (publiusforum.com). He began blogging in 2001, making a name for himself in the “blogosphere” early on. He got in on the ground floor at the urging of the late Andrew Breitbart when Andrew began his now-famous website in 2008. Warner has continued to write for Breitbart since then, in addition to many other publications that carry his work.

Huston’s son has set up a GoFundMe page in hopes of raising enough funds to replace his car. Huston says it was an old car, only covered by liability insurance. For most in this business, writing does not make one rich, or even comfortable. It is a labor of love and commitment to our beloved country – a nation now threatened by the forces of anarchy.

But ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, Washington Post, NY Times, PBS etc? Not a peep.

I called Warner to ask him if, given the MSM “reporters are in danger” meme that we saw this year, if anyone in the MSM had contacted him: “Nobody from the MSM”.

The one exception was the Daily caller, they did contact him but “decided not to go for it as they didn’t see enough to blame it on somebody.”

Meanwhile the MSM has no shortage of headlines about the threats reporters face under trump:

The Day: Trump’s troubling anti-media threats

Washington Post: Trump escalates threats against press, calls news coverage ‘frankly disgusting’

LA Times: Op-Ed Which is worse, Trump’s anti-media rhetoric, or his prosecution of 2 journalists?

Real Clear Politics: GOP Silence on Trump’s Press Threats Is Shameful

SF Chronicle: The world gets more Precarious for Press Freedom

St Louis Post Dispatch: Protests are a battleground for press freedom

But my favorite is this piece is the Chicago Tribune that suggested reestablishing trust in the press via local reporting:

But the real answer is a return to local reporting. It may come in the form of nonprofit, reader-supported websites like the Texas Tribune or New Haven Independent. It may come when somebody figures out a for-profit model that can deliver news to smaller audiences. But only when we know our reporters again will we begin to trust them.

While ignoring the targeting of a reporter in their own neck of the woods.  (Incidentally Warner told he he checked with his neighbors after the incident before the car was torched, none of them had even as much as an egg thrown at their windows during the various times he was hit.)

Warner has carried on, he’s  installed some security cameras and put up a sign and is waiting for the 30 day period so he can download what has been raised via the gofundme campaign to get another car.  I’m sorry to say he’s raised less that 50% of his $10,000 goal for the campaign (you can donate here if you want to help) and he’s kept on writing despite the silence of the press.

Of course if he had been a liberal journalist in a conservative city critically covering republicans, the tea party or anti-abortion activists who had his car torched he would be on TV every single day to the point where you knew his face better than Trump’s

So the next time some leftist or media person talks about how Donald Trump is encouraging violence against the press tell them about Warner Todd Huston and ask them why they are hearing about this for the first time?

As I have no sexual secrets of rich liberals to keep for a price I have to make my buck by going places and doing interviews all the time hoping people like it enough to pay for it.
